To the MCC Community,

I had the wonderful opportunity to accompany the Senior PF to NOLA. I wish I could put into words what the experience was like. I can’t though. Have you ever experienced something that if you tried you couldn’t even scratch the surface?  Or, you would ruin it with words? Like any experience it is always personal. You get out what you put in.  Only God, has the words to honor the Senior PF who gave unconditionally to those in need on and in their journey to NOLA.

The trip was not in the lap of luxury by any means. I witnessed wonderful, caring, loving kids who worked very hard in the heat and hot baking sun. The work that they accomplished even an adult would find difficult. They kids were resilient. They held each other up. They watched and took care of each other as they gave back to a community in need. The devastation that still exists after Katrina, would make the hair on your arms stand up.  THESE KIDS GET IT!!!!! They brought me to tears in what I witnessed from them. Trust me it was more than once that I broke down in tears.  What a feeling as I watched and worked besides these kids. As a parent, you should be so proud of them. You are very lucky to have such wonderful kids that want to do everything in their power to make a difference in the world and in society.

I was given a gift to witness and travel and be a part of these beautiful kids journey for one week. This experience will last a life time for me. I watched them dance, play, work, sweat and collapse in exhaustion.  I heard them sing, pray, laugh, joke, cry, share and question. They were rebuilding internally and externally. You could not help but see God, in each and every one of them.

As, I think about the trip and the experience all the way around from beginning to end I start to laugh. Who had it better than me? I realize I am the lucky one. These kids are our future.  I will always follow these special PF kids. They are going make the world a better place for you and me to live in. They have my vote!

Thank you to all the Senior PF for allowing me to travel and be a part of that special week. I’ll always have your back and I know you’ll always have mine. I love you. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Love to everyone at MCC , Always, Paulette
